Musu frames are handcrafted in a family-run factory, in operation since 1950, located in the heart of the Cadore Valley. To make your MUSUs, expert craftsmen go through more than 50 production steps, from sourcing bioacetate sheets to the final polishing touch. All MUSU lenses have been hand selected by our founders from our Sel Optical suppliers, also
located in the heart of the Italian Dolomites. To ensure superior vision and
colour clarity, as well as high scratch resistance, the lenses are made of
CR-39. They offer 100% UVA and UVB protection.
- 100% Bioacetate frame, 100% CR-39 plastic polymer lens
- Frame total width: 143mm; lens diameter: 41mm; bridge width: 20mm; temples length: 145mm
All MUSUs are made from Bioacetate, a plant-based component developed by leading Italian company Mazuchelli, the industry's most trusted supplier since 1849. With Bioacetate, all the plasticisers needed to manufacture ordinary acetate are replaced by plant-based components, ensuring that all MUSU frames are biodegradable and recyclable. As well as being more environmentally friendly, tests have also shown that this material outperforms conventional acetate in key properties such as strength.
